Recently searching on web I have come across with a very special photographer that have touched my heart and impressed with artistic approach to the subject matter and the brave ideas. The name of the artist is Phillip Toledano, who was born in London to a French Moroccan mother, and an American father.
The core idea of Toledano’s works lies in his belief that photographs should be like unfinished sentences. There should always be space for questions.
Phillip’s work is socio-political, and varies in medium, from photography, to installation. The series the artist produces are one hand fascinating for a today’s viewer and give space for personal reflection, but on the other hand are crystal clear and understandable.
One of the most recent series ‘A New Kind of Beauty’ tells a viewer about the people who dared to follow thir dreams and create thier dream body by means of plastic surgery.
‘Phonesex‘ interodudes a reader and viewer into the daily life and inspiration of the workers of companies who provide sex-on-the-phone servises.
Mr Toledano opens his inner world in the series ‘Days with my father‘ which is a story about his relationship with his own father. This project is very personal, but each person is able to relate to is in the very same toughing way.
To conclude, I believe that Phillip Toledano would be a real discovery for one. For more information check his official website.
